About Colt

Colt’s practice involves first and third-party litigation. Before coming to Thenell Law Group, Colt worked for a Portland firm that focused on cannabis-related litigation for Oregon’s  cannabis industry. His work there centered around criminal defense and business organization.  There, he gained valuable experience in providing clients sound advice, while navigating unprecedented laws in a young industry.

Colt earned a B.A. in Philosophy at Portland State University and attended law school at Willamette University College of Law in Salem. While in law school, Colt was active in Moot Court and competed against other law schools in regional competitions during his second and third years. During law school, Colt broadened his horizons by participating in Willamette University’s study abroad program, where he spent six weeks studying law at Eastern Chinese School of Politics and Law in Shanghai, China.

In his spare time, Colt enjoys the outdoors, playing various instruments, painting, and games of all kinds.
