During Dan’s formative years in small-town central Oregon, he learned the benefit of community involvement. Dan volunteers at his children’s school, coaches local youth sports, and serves several non-profit law enforcement entities. Additionally, Dan assists the Oregon Peace Officers Association (OPOA) and the Hillsboro Trust Team Foundation.

Dan and Kirsten Curtis serve as Directors for the Oregon Fallen Badge Foundation, an organization they assisted in obtaining 501(c)(3) status.

Ms. Curtis also assisted Pillowcases for Patients, an organization that makes pillowcases for sick children, in becoming a 501(c)(3). Ms. Curtis was a volunteer judge with both the Beaverton Youth Peer Court and the Tigard Youth Peer Court in pre-COVID times, and serves as a CASA for Central Oregon.
